Hello from Santiago

A very quick update from Santiago, Chile. The weather is beautiful here. It's great to have a week of summer in the middle of winter.
The food is great and the wine is good. There are almost 90 of us on this trip, so the biggest drawback is having to stand in line for everything we do. We get on the bus to go to the next place and wait. We go to the airport and wait in line. I even had to wait in line today to make my purchase when we took a bus to the best place to shop for lapis lazuli jewelry. Can you imagine what goes through a small shop keeper's mind when 30 or 40 people get off a bus on the street and head for your shop? Fortunately there were enough shops that we could spread out a bit. And enough people who speak Spanish to translate for the rest of us.
It's only the middle of the week, and I'm having a great time.
